The Filipino Commonwealth Army, on the other hand, was made up, for the most part, of untrained and untried troops who were only then undergoing the initial phases of their training under the leadership and guidance of the United States Army officers. While the Pentagon's MIA list still contains names of missing servicemen, the last official prisoner of war was declared dead in 1994.
